In the first quarter of 2024, the top 5 News and Magazines apps in Ghana showed varied performance in terms of weekly downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared.

TrendsNews GHANA experienced a decline in weekly downloads, starting at around 5K in early January and dropping to approximately 1.7K by the end of March. Despite this, there were slight upticks in downloads mid-quarter, particularly in the weeks of February 26 and March 18, where downloads rose to 1.8K and 1.6K, respectively.

Quora: the knowledge platform saw a relatively stable download trend, beginning the quarter with around 1.8K downloads and peaking at 2.6K in the week of February 19. Weekly active users for Quora showed a consistent pattern, fluctuating between 52K and 55K throughout the quarter.

Opera News: breaking & local maintained steady weekly downloads, averaging around 1.8K to 2K. Active users saw a gradual decline from 213K in early January to 169K by the end of March.

Google News - Daily Headlines showed an upward trend in weekly downloads, starting at 330 and peaking at 1.5K in mid-March. Active users also increased, reaching nearly 6K by the end of the quarter.

Opera News Lite - Less Data had modest download numbers, starting at 124 and reaching 251 in the week of March 11. Active users showed a downward trend, beginning at 6.4K in January and decreasing to 2.6K by the end of March.
